Individual Needs Assessment of People with Disabilities according the People with Disabilities Law

A two-day seminar on Individual Needs Assessment of People with Disabilities according the People with Disabilities Law starts today at CHRDRI. The seminar includes a total of 28 participants, representatives from various institutions and organizations working on the issues.

The lecturer of the seminar is Mrs. Nadejda Harizanova, who has a rich experience in development of national and international strategic documents, as well as legislation related to people with disabilities rights. She holds and Ph. D.  from the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. She was also and a member of the team in Bulgarian Presidency in Council of European Union and now she is actively working with European Commission, Council of Europe, UN and other international organizations. Her work includes promoting and protecting the rights of people with disabilities. Mrs. Harizanova has a number of publications in the field of social work and social inclusion of people with disabilities.

The main objectives of the seminar are to build on the knowledge about the legal framework regulating the support for people with disabilities; raising knowledge on the specifics of different types of disability as well as learning about the core of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health of the World Health Organization.
