20 Unemployed Graduates Become Youth Mediators

Unemployed graduates below 29 registered at the labor offices, start today training for youth mediators at CHRDRI. It will be held from 15 to June 19 within 80 training hours.
"Inductory training for youth mediators" is the theme of the prepared by the Centre programme for vocational training and retraining in the profession "collaborator in social activities". It is enabled by the "Activating of inactive persons" project of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. Participants in the course will be prepared for social work and counseling to children and families at risk.

The training aims to acquaint prospective mediators with legislation in the field of social work, with the main programming documents defining the policy of the labor market in the country, and the structure of state administration in the field of social services. Participants must learn to differentiate target groups subject to social assistance and support. They will also build the necessary knowledge base and competencies to carry out mediation and contact between the unemployed persons and institutions.

In the training program, participants will learn about the professional profile of the youth mediator and approaches and methods necessary for its work. They will examine programs and incentives for implementation of social cooperation in the field of education and sport in the context of the national plan for implementing the European Youth Guarantee.

As a result of the course, mediators will form competencies for practical application and implementation of social work and counseling, will be able to deal with the necessary information for directing the unemployed persons to employment programs and trainings, prescribing measures for implementation of social cooperation in the field of education and sport activation of inactive persons on the labor market, and to use psychological techniques in working with-risk groups.

Successful graduates will receive certificates of vocational qualification in the profession.
