MINISTRY OF E-GOVERNANCE TAKES INITIATIVE TO PROTECT CHILDREN ON THE INTERNET
The Ministry of e-Governance is taking an initiative to protect children from the dangers of
the Internet. Guidelines for policymakers in the field of child protection online, developed by
the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) with the help of experts in various fields,
are available on the ITU website, translated into Bulgarian. The document is part of a series
of similar Child Protection Online Guidelines for parents and educators, children, businesses
and policy makers (https://www.itu-cop-guidelines.com/). The guidelines include a number
of recommendations, including legal and policy frameworks, to address the harm caused to
children in the digital environment.
MEU recognizes the extreme importance of the topic of children's safe surfing on the
Internet and sets itself the task of imposing it on the main agenda of society. We would like
to engage the state institutions at the central and municipal level, the non-governmental
sector and socially responsible business organizations for this cause.
CRCRRI endorsed the initiative of MEU.
