Promoting Socially Responsible Behavior
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) will be the focus of expert discussions with international participation on "Perspectives for Development of Corporate Social Responsibility Policy in the context of Good International Practices," which will be held from 27 to 30 November in CHRDRI in cooperation with MLSP. CSR policy is part of the commitment of Bulgaria to encourage the development of models and practices to assist and facilitate the environment in which companies (businesses and institutions) state their social responsibility. The National Strategy on CSR for the previous period (2009 - 2013) was aimed at supporting voluntary activity of companies in the field of social responsibility. There have been a lot of initiatives that clearly outlined the need for further guidance for development and upgrading of achievements of the country in the context of international best practices. With the adoption of amendments to the Rules of procedure of MLSP from July 20, 2016, "Strategic planning and demographic policy" Directorate is committed to the development and implementation of national policies on corporate social responsibility. This makes this topic really current. Development of an effective strategy for the next period and discussions, exchange of expertise and sharing of best international practices and models in the field of CSR will be of particular importance. Invitations for the meeting - discussion are sent to representatives of MLSP, the Ministry of Education, Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of Bulgaria, Labour Confederation “Podkrepa”, BICA, SACP, National Federation of Employers of Disabled People, Commission for Protection against Discrimination,CCI "Dobrich", of academics and private businesses.
